Where do I even begin with this one you guys. As most of my followers know from Instagram I struggle with work/life balance and I go through spurts of mom guilt where I absolutely cannot function in my career. I can’t find the creativity and it starts to become just one more thing I’ve got to get done. Theres also the big elephant in the room. I was doing what I thought everybody else wanted which absolutely sucked the joy out of doing it. Being creative has always been extremely important to me and I had noticed I was capturing everyones stories in the same ways. I’m not even sure when it happened or how it happened but it happened. I made a promise to myself that I would capture each clients individual stories. So I decided to put out a post asking for a couple to help me bring my creativity back to life. Keonna messaged me almost instantly.

I told Keonna about the vibe and the intention behind the shoot and she was on board from the start. We created a mood board and discussed what each of us wanted from this shoot! Honestly the planning process for this shoot brought me back to life! I decided to utilize the Brickhouse Loft in Williamsburg Iowa for the location. It is such a beautiful little Air BNB if you’re ever looking! Also fellow photographers it’s an amazing spot to shoot as well!

I let Keonna and Trey know that this session would be intimate and I wanted them to be authentic. We decided to incorporate their favorite drinks! Not only because they love to socialize and enjoy a few together but to also help them relax! It can be a ton of pressure in front of the camera!

Keonna and Trey were absolutely beautiful! They moved so well together and once I got Trey talking about how he and Keonna met and started their love story he was all smiles and opened right up! Their story isn’t your typical fairytale but it is absolutely perfect for them! You could see how much they adore eachother which is my absolute favorite to capture.

I honestly can’t decide if the mirror shots or the bedroom shots are my favorite! They trusted me every step of the way and weren’t afraid to try anything I suggested. It’s very hard to fake the kind of chemistry these two have in these photos. I absolutely adore every single one.

Keonna sent me a photo of the pictures she had printed and when I tell you I welled up! Seeing clients so happy with their gallery’s that they invest in their prints brings me so much joy! It is truly the session I needed to spark my love for the art again!
